This is more than the story of the invasion of Tinian and Okinawa, the Seabees who built the bases there, the Boeing B-29 Superfortress, the air war against Japan, culminating in the production of the atomic bombs and their use against Japan.

It is also the story of the author's father, George W. Larson, who served in the 135th United States Naval Construction Battalion on Tinian and Okinawa during World War II, and a witness to many of these events.
