Die Schwerterträger der Wehrmacht

Absolutely the best book ever published containing more information related to the title than any other out there. It's very hard for me to understand how one could put a price on this VERY WELL made print-to-order hardcover book let alone gripe at the $34.95 price/size of, as another reviewer did. Five-star book all the way, if you want pertinent info related to holders of the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes mit Eichenlaub und Schwertern. The book tells briefly date and action for the receipt of the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes,Eichenlaub, Schwertern, and Brillanten for each of the 160 recipients of the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes mit Eichenlaub und Schwertern. A must have book in either format for those who hold a interest in this subject or your library is incomplete.

I thought the price was a bit high ($35) for something not much bigger than a lot of magazines, but if you want something bad enough you'll pay the cost. It did have a lot of information in the book, information that I have not seen elsewhere, so for anyone wanting the info. it is worth buying. There is always the option of buying the disk format too, which is less costly. ***PUBLISHER'S RESPONSE: Yes, they are are costly (especially the hardcovers, which is what this customer ordered). That's due to the print on demand nature of the books I publish. Without print on demand, most of these books would never be published, at least certainly not in trade paperback/hardcover editions (prior to December 2005, I printed the books myself on a laser printer and bound them using a perfect binding machine for the softcovers--which was nowhere nearly as good as the trade paperback binding now used for my books). The hardcovers were somewhat better, but did not have any spine printing and the cover was printed on a sheet of pressure sensitive label stock and applied to the front of the hardcover (and even those hardcover editions were not cheap). For the hardcover books I now publish, the binding (and dust jacket) alone costs me $20.00, plus the cost of the printing of the pages, plus shipping (since U.S. customers get free shipping on orders $30.00 and up, most customers do not pay for shipping when ordering a hardcover book). When all is said and done, I make a couple dollars clear profit on a hardcover book... at least when I sell direct to the consumer; for books sold through dealers and booksellers, it's even less.
